#OOTD Anxious for the Sun

Hey there guys!

I'm very much enjoying my week off from Satan's hell-hole *cough cough* school *cough cough*. I get all the fun of seeing my friends without having to do work in between! All praise the half term holiday! Harrah!

 

I also get to catch up on all the blogs I've missed. Been neglecting some of my favourites too :(

But no fear cus' I won't be from this week on.

 

So, fashion. This gorgeous shift dress is from The white pepper and you might recognise it from my wishlist post a little while back. Also the bum-bag. It feels a little odd to be using such an... interesting piece of fashion but I think it really goes with the mint-y colour of the dress and would look great in a festival kind of environment. :)

DIY Lace trimmed socks

Hey my lovelies!

HEY LOOK EVERYONE I DID SEWING. And to be perfectly honest, I failed at it. But who cares? I think (for me) they're pretty frickin' spectacular!

Ah yes. This is meant to be a tutorial.

To make these adorable SS14 beauties you will need:

• A pair of plain socks
• A yard of lace of your choosing
• Pins
• A sewing machine
• Thread that is either invisible or matches the colour of your lace
• Scissors

Step 1:
On your first sock, pin one end of the lace to the middle of the back. Pull the sock elastic taut and wrap the lace around it until it gets to the starting point. Overlap it a little and re-pin the lace there.

Step 2:
 On your sewing machine, sew around the edge of the sock and lace trim with a zig zag stitch.

Note: As you are sewing around the edge, pull the edge of the sock to meet the lace. To make your sock look good you will need to keep this tension of the sock as you sew around the whole edge.

Step 3:  Adjust the lace to as you see fit. Don't worry if the lace crinkles a bit when you have finished, it will stretch out again when you put the sock on!

 

You now have an adorable pair of lace trimmed socks!

#OOTD The Hoax Heatwave

Hey my lovelies
While editing this, it was lovely and sunny, and I actually had a touch of sunburn on my ridiculously pale skin. But of course, Mr Summer did a big fat NOPE and left England rainy, cold and downright confused.

Damn.

So while it was sunny, this #OOTD might have been really awesome. I found these great aztec/festival shorts on Topshop and they are simply gorgeous. Also, the hair. One day in the near future I will be able to do a waterfall braid as well as an angel braid.
(It's entirely possible that I won't because I can barely do a ponytail without messing up).

If I do manage to I promise I will do a post on it. Then I can show off about it. Deal?

Summer Wishlist

1. Milkmaid Braid

Ok this isn't technically a thing to buy but I still really want to know how to do a milkmaid braid. They're so gorgeous and stunning - not to mention it keeps the hair out your face!

2. Urban Outfitters Sunglasses

Aren't these just lovely? The buttery yellow colour is so great for summer and the style of these are just perfect for framing your face.

 

3. Urban Outfitters Roses Bun-Ringlet

These are simply beautiful. I can see myself using these a lot! It would really bring some life to be my plain, boring ponytails and buns.

 

4. The White Pepper Simple Shift Dress

The colour of this dress reminds me of minty ice-cream. Its also really easy to wear - shift dresses always are!

 

5. Lazy Oaf Bag

Yes please to that bag indeed! I've actually wanted this for quite a while now because its pretty much wearable in any season.

 

6. Topshop Green Heeled Shoes

Aren't they just gorgeous?! They've got a nice khaki tone to them which I have a feeling will be in for summer! *wink wink*.

 

7. H & M Dress

Everyone needs a nice plain white dress in their wardrobe. Why not this fairly lovely H & M beauty? Its got faint stripes on it which makes it a tad more interesting :)

Shame a Shop: Topshop

Hello my lovelies!
Tad controversial title I know, but I felt like this needed to be said.

A few weekends ago, I was shopping in Topshop and I found a fairly desirable pair of jellies. The price? £20. Fairly reasonable I thought, but not that worth it.

However, the following weekend my Mum and I were going through the market stalls in Nottingham Victoria centre and I discovered an identical pair of shoes, and I mean identical. They were £7.

£13 whole pounds? That seemed a little too good to be true. So when I got home, I looked on the internet, and yep you guessed it, still £20.

Don't get me wrong on this, I love Topshop. I think they're great. But when it comes to getting the cheaper option I will always go for that.

So, message from Grand Master Strawberry today: Cheaper = More money to spend in Urban Outfitters

#OOTD Summer chills

Hello my lovelies

First off: Eurovison.
Does anyone else agree that that was the most fabulous Eurovision of all the time? There was a bearded lady for Christ's sake! A bearded lady! Plus, WE WEREN'T COMPLETELY AWFUL! *raises glass* *toasts English singer* *splashes selected drink into the face of the person who chose the song because lets be honest it was such a bad choice*

Moving on, I'd like to silently curse the weatherman for saying that this weekend will be nice and mild, when in fact it has been pouring buckets. Thank you, kind Sir, for nearly damaging my camera. Let it be known that I hate you.

Ah yes, fashion.
I realised I hadn't actually included a dress in my #OOTD posts in quite a while now and apparently it's "Summer" (Pfff! yeah right!) so why not? It's a little oversized-which I love- and its quite cute and pretty. The flower crown has reappeared (of course) and has done with a vengeance.

#OOTD Bejewel Me

Hello there lovely people!
First off, let me apologise for not posting as frequently as usual. I've had a touch of writers (bloggers?) block and the added pressure of school plus the horrendous reality of the bear trap that has enclosed my mouth (*cough cough* braces *cough cough*) has sort of slowed me down a bit.
But don't worry! Everything is pretty much fine now.

As you can probably see I've starting to edge away from monochrome now, and slowly but surely I have taken an interest in ACTUAL COLOUR AGAIN LIKE WOW.
I also have a new shop that has been added to my list-of-stores-that-I-will-prowl-around-when-there's-a-sale-on list. That shop would be Runway Bandits and I definitely recommend having a look!

Tumblr 2.1

 Hey my lovelies.
I hope you're all having a nice week! I've just been enjoying my time on tumblr, gradually wasting my life away. Its a nice way to procrastinate though and I don't feel like I'm getting bored of endless 'inspiration' quotes just yet.

In other news, I have been fitted with a contraption that will 'help my teeth look well nice'. Ugh. It feels like someone has hit my teeth with a spade and then super-glued said spade to them.
Anyone with a brace (or had a brace) will know how miserable they are. I'm moaning now. It's not a good look for me. *le sigh*
