The book I couldn't do without.

Ahoy there!

Thought I'd show you something different today: My die hard book. The book that I constantly look for inspiration in and just adore. I hope you enjoy!

The Fashion Book
Exactly like it says on the tin; its The Fashion Book. It contains (alphabetically) every style, designer, trend and fashion photographer ever to grace the halls of fame. Its so detailed- which also makes it heavy. REALLY heavy. For that reason it mostly stays on my bedroom shelf usually lying open at whatever page I left it at.

This book is perfect for people who are really geeky about fashion. Its a literal dictionary of style. You can spend hours just going through the pages, just looking at the models and wondering how uncomfortable they must have been in that not-really-a-bikini bikini.

Ah, I feel a wave of sentimentality wash over me.

So yeah, this is my holy grail book and you should get it. Like seriously. Now. Go on Amazon and get it.

Thanks for reading!

#OOTD Denim and Gingham

God, I seem to be obsessed with those shoes at the moment! They're so perfect in every way.

Hope you're all having a nice week. I'm just recovering from major jetlag. (Newsflash: 12 hour flights are NOT FUN) But its good to be back in the blogging routine :)

Ok, fashion talk. One of the major things in Japan was that A, they all wore knee high socks (?) and B, they were totally loving the knee length denim skirt look. I guess its sort of rubbed off on me. I suddenly find myself looking for the ultimate denim knee length skirt. Strange behavior.

Japan

Hey guys!
This is the post where I get to be all smug and show photos from my trip to Japan. I promise the smug-ness will subside after a few months. Also, as a side note, I worked out how to remove the giant orange date thingy on the last day - unfortunately I can't remove it from pictures I already took though....Sorry!!
Enjoy!

(Please note: All photos were taken by me. Please do not use for your own purposes without contacting me and receiving my permission first. Thanks!)

Me looking fabulous.

I had to climb these. WHY?!

Fat fish

More fat fish

Saw this in the middle of a massively prehistoric street.

Ahoy there England!

Ah, the feeling of being back on British soil... Of course Japanese soil is lovely but its good to be home.

As you all well know I said I would be blogging in Japan. It appears that I was lying (so much for keeping promises). Really sorry about that. I genuinely thought they would have access to blogger over there but I was wrong.

Soz.

Anyways, just editing up a HUGE post for all you wonderful people. Trust me. Its, like, huge. On that post you will see all my photos and stuff. It will probably be up tomorrow.

Thanks
for being so patient!

See ya soon guys!

#OOTD Mint among Monochrome

Hello all!

I have spent much of my internet time procrastinating and talking to people of twitter and bundlemag. But then, what else is the internet FOR? Researching important stuff and actually doing work? Pfff! Aint nobody got time for dat!

I'm deviating hugely.

So yes, outfit. Much inspiration here from American Apparel.  In my opinion it's on outfit made for Sunday. Cosy, comfy, oversize and effortlessly cool. Just add a pinch of swag and you got yourself something awesome. Plus, monochrome is totally in for Spring, as is pretty ice cream shades.

Spring Wishlist for the like-minded

Hello lovely people!

Ah, a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. This weight just so happens to be entitled 'SCHOOL'. I have 2 weeks. 2 WHOLE WEEKS where I no longer have to worry about what essay has to be in and what class I have to run to and etc. etc. etc. And also, if I haven't mentioned if you're not sick of me mentioning I'm going to freaking Japan!

Eeeeeeeeep!

So I thought in these joyous times I'd make a wishlist, in the hope that my parents feel generous and in the giving mood. I can only hope.

So sit back, relax, grab that mug of hot chocolate/tea/ delicious hot beverage and let me go through my wishes.

1. Edit Printed Crop Sweatshirt
Isn't it so awesome!? I'm in love with the whole rainbow-galaxy-woah print. (Also, I own, like, no cool sweatshirts.)

2. The Tribal Print Cap
I've suddenly rediscovered one of the coolest shops I know. One of the reasons I forgot/ignored American Apparel was because I am natuarally drawn away from "Eeek! too socially awkward to wear that!" clothes but I've recently started browsing there because of my beloved Instagram giving me pics from them. Anyway, this cap used to be too cool for me but NOW I (might) ROCK THIS.

3. Bow Hair Clip
Another American apparel treasure. Adorable. Pretty. Pink. What more could I need?

4. Pink Bralet
I was actually shocked to discover this was from Primark. Its perfect. Shows hardly any skin and is a bralet. Erm...WIN! hehe

5. White Heeled Shoes
These are beautiful. Apart from the fact that it is inevitable that their whiteness will soon be tarnished by my amazing ability to make almost all my clothes mucky in about an hour of purchase. Its a natural gift. Spiderman gets spider agility, I get clumsiness. We all know where I stand in the X men mutation revolution.

6. Prickly Cap
I don't think this needs thorough explaining. Its a cap with totally awesome different types of cacti printed all over it. What's not to love?

7. Bunny Bag
This is so totally cute! I love the pastel-y mint colour which is perfect for spring. Granted, it may not be the most useful item but.... Bunny Ears!!

8. Black Flower Print Shorts
Slightly more dark and gloomy than the others on the wishlist but only just. The flower print is beautiful and the fact that they're shorts, well, I literally own zero pairs of shorts for the summer so these will do nicely.

9. Cat Eye Sunglasses
I think these have been featured in at least 3 of my #OOTD posts. That probably shows how much I love them! And also cat eye sunglasses are so in for SS14.

10. The Ragged Priest Coat
Slightly weirder than the rest. I'm not sure how much I would wear this; I think this is one of those statement fashion things that get worn about 5 times per year. However, after seeing something really similar in Topshop and falling in love with that, I have also fallen in love with this oddball treasure too.

11. Paint Splattered Platform Sandals
Oh these are beauties. Not sure my mum would actually let me wear them though, I'd break my ankle! Anyway, I love the paint splattered effect and the whole 70s thing going on.

Review of Hopkinson Vintage

Hello lovely people!

I'm really sorry about the gigantic orange date in the bottom of the photos. I'm working on it.

I'm reviewing one of my favourite vintage places today! Its possibly one of the cutest café/ boutiques on the planet what with its multi-coloured bunting that runs right round the store and its many slightly odd but adorable house furnishings. It really is one of my favourite places.

First impressions:
Outside you can only tell that it is a café, when inside only a small percentage is actually that. In fact, a huge amount of the store is just random stuff piled in corners that you root through.
But at the very front of the store you immediately see rows upon rows of vintage clothing, homewares and random other stuff. It all sort of blurs into a cath kidson coloured blanket.

Clothes
A lot of the clothes is stuff people would never wear in a million years- but that's sort of the point of vintage wear, you have to sort through a lot of rubbish to find the good stuff. Saying that, that is a lot of nice dresses, scarves, sunglasses and jewellery to find if you look hard enough.

Service
Hopkinson is actually a few boutiques arranged onto 3 floors and I talked to each of the shop owners individually. They all were good helpful people and let me look through their things in peace. They seemed to understand how important it is to let the customer look around themselves and not get pestered constantly whether they needed any help or were they looking for anything?

See ya soon guys
