#BigBlogmasProject Day 12: Something a bit different...

Well hello there and may I just say that we are pretty much halfway to Christmas! Hasn't it just flown by? Ooooh I'm so excited for Christmas!

Anyway, I/mum had an idea. You see, I've recently and forever  been in love with Doc martens. What I'm asking is that we have a teensy wincey competition (the first of my blog!) It's not for any prizes (soz) only that you'll get your name and the picture on my post. Here's my idea:

  • Take a picture of you wearing your doc martens in strange areas- the wackier the better!
  • Send it in to vintagenewbie@gmail.com
  • This will be open until January 31st so get snapping!!
See ya soon guys!

#BigBlogmasProject Day 11: A Christmas jumper guide

Yet another ridiculous Christmas song here.

Oohh! Hello my lovelies! How are you today? Well? I'm fine thank you. That's assuming you asked me how I was, and if you didn't, tutt tutt.
Anyway, this post is about the dreaded Christmas jumper. *ghostly howl* For some reason people have been wearing these since mid-November. *holds up rubber chicken* LOGIC. I blame Bridget Jones's diary when Mark Darcy sported the appalling jumper and it caught on. Ugh. Don't get me wrong, the chrristmas jumper is an...interesting fashion statement, but only when styled correctly.

How to style:
Most Christmas jumpers are fairly colourful so keep other clothes simple and one block colour. With the accessories, try and match them to the colour of the jumper ie. green patterned jumper = emerald coloured jewellery. You get the gist.

Where to buy:
One of the best and cheapest places to buy Christmas jumpers this year is Primark. They have great deals and good quality jumpers...if you can get in. It's usually chock-a-block at Nottingham! Also another great place is the much loved beyond retro. Really loving the embarrassing vintage styles there!

#BigBlogmasProject Day 10: Review of Tasty Vintage- Lincoln

Play dis!

Hey there all ye wonderful lot. (I'm trying to speak all Christmassy) Whilst in Lincoln I saw this really adorabubble vintage shop and I really loved it. So I decided to do a review. Et Voila. Here it is.

First impressions: As I said, it was sooo cute! The whole theme of the shop was 'quirky' and there were loads of little vintage-y objects scattered around like a super old sewing machine and some old photos of army people  looking like someone had shoved a pin up their butt. Hehe. It was so cool.

Clothes: I loved their stock. The time period was from around the 20s to the late 80s and seriously. There was some crazy stuff in there. There was a whole section dedicated to slightly crazy looking sequin covered nightgowns which were probably not even fashionable in the 70s. On another rack there was some more 'normal' looking outfits, one of my favourites being a baby pink crochet top.
Staff: I arrived there at lunch so there wasn't really anyone manning the shop then but someone arrived later and were really cool about me reviewing the shop. Muchos smiles.

?/10: 8.5/10 Very impressed by their wonderfulness!

See ya soon

#BigBlogmasProject Day 9: Lincoln Christmas Market

Play this (just sayin', but I can play this on piano. Get me being all musical.)

It's actually really ironic that I've been to Lincoln Christmas market (which is an hour away) and I haven't been to Nottingham Christmas market. Hmm. Really seeing the logic there. Anyway this is kinda going to be a review/day out thingy. Enjoy!

The whole vibe at the market was very bubbly. I felt like a sheep most of the time though, being herded into the areas where the market was. And that was another thing, the market was in separate areas. There was like 4 different markets dotted around the centre of Lincoln. Apart from that it was really well organised!

I loved the stalls. They were really good with lots of variety and lots of Christmas gifts which is pretty stereotypical for  a Christmas  fair (no kidding captain genius). Also, there were 2 big tents CRAMMED full of fur and wool. Like, loads. There was grannies shoving there way in there to get a bargain deal on a pair of leather gloves. Madness. Pure, wonderful madness. AND there was a bubble machine hydro pumping out bubbles! I have to say, that was awesome.

Overall the fair was ok. As you can probably tell by this post I'm not THAT excited by it. I did get to buy some Christmas prezzies though and a snood. Isn't that such a good word? Snood. I like it.

See ya soon guys
