What I Love About Autumn | Tag

This tag is from the lovely Temporary Secretary and the topic is of course, Autumn. I've always loved Autumn, what with the gorgeous leaves, the looming presence of Halloween and the fact that we can all officially wear scarves, woolly hats and jumpers without A, being judged and B, overheating and ending up looking like a tomato. (This has happened, no lie.) It's generally a pretty damn good season overall. But anyway, on with the questions!

What's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?

My all time favourite Starbucks drink is a Vanilla latte (mmm...). But I don't actually understand the hype about the pumpkin spice latte. It's definitely not what its cracked up to be.

What accessories do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?

I generally swathe myself in all three, but I'd probably say I love my scarves the most. I have so many that its getting kinda ridiculous... The problem is that you never really can throw them out so unless you donate a load of them, they just become a giant fluffy stack in the corner of your room.

What's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?

Ack. This is the worst question to ask me because my favourite songs change almost weekly. Right now I'm listening to stereotypically teenager-y grungy bands like MCR, Good Charlotte and Green Day....

 

What's your favourite perfume for this time of year?
I don't have a perfume that I stick to seasonally, but I do wear a vanilla scented one that makes me smell like an actual cupcake :)

What candle scents will you be burning this season?
I don't own any candles, but I do know that my favourite scents are either cinnamon and gingerbread. Ahhh... they're just lovely,..

What do you love most about Autumn?
I love going out on my bike down the footpath near where I live and seeing the gorgeous golds, oranges and reds of the leaves. They're so beautiful, it makes me feel like I'm in a perfect disney movie.

Favourite make up look?
Never really been a make up person myself, I often just stick to a  natural look!

What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?

I'm looking forward to my birthday haha!

The First Year

Hey my lovelies!

Hard to believe that it has been a year - A YEAR - since I first started blogging. I'm actually very proud of myself for getting this far! I didn't think that this little blog would actually become known  or that people would actually read it. Needless to say, I'm especially proud of how pretty it looks.

(But in my opinion, I think it needs more cat pictures. Just sayin')

So thank you, guys, for sticking around. It means the world. And congrats to me, for actually writing the posts and for learning photoshop  figuring out what all the little buttons do in photoshop.

Liebster Award #2

Welcome back for round 2...

Last Friday I was nominated by the wonderful Jess of Every Envy for the liebster award. I was absolutely beaming because this is the second time I've had the privilege to get this! Thanks Jess!

Anyway, if you didn't know, the liebster award is basically a little token of admiration from fellow blogger to fellow blogger and if my German is as good as I think it is, liebster means the equivalent of 'lovely' or 'dear'.

So on with the rules:

1. When I blog I listen to this. Always.

2. I am intensely good at procrastin- oooohh shiny...

3. My favourite subject is English.

4. I am, of course, the grand high priestess of sarcasm.

5.  I swear I spend at least 8-9 hours of my day on Tumblr

6. I have the ability to ship just about everything.

7. I used to play piano until I realised how bad I was. That and I hated the teacher with every inch of my existence.

8. The number 8 is my favourite number.

9. I have one of those demented seal laughs crossed with a silent game of pat-a-cake with myself

10. When I was about 7 or 8 I had a serious obsession with the Winx Club

11. You almost can't see the wallpaper on one side of my bedroom walls because its literally covered in photos and posters.

Questions asked by Every Envy:

If you had a time machine and you were only allowed one trip where would you travel to and why?

I think I'd travel to the first day of year 7 and I would tell younger me to stop having a panic attack in the corner and that everything was going to be ok.

Why did you start blogging? And is this your first blog?

I started blogging because I really needed to write down my opinions on style. (Believe it or not it comes across as a bit weird when you obsess about ankle boots for weeks) 

If you were to binge watch an entire series of a TV show what would it be?

Oooooh toughie. I think it would have to be either Gravity falls or Sherlock.

If you were to write a book what would it be about?

It would be about murder and monsters with crazy plot twists and believable- and almost hateable-protagonists.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?

There are so many.... Though if I had to choose it would probably be the time that I fell off my chair from laughing too hard and the whole class saw my pants... *cringe cringe cringe*

Would you kill one innocent person if it meant saving one hundred others? (getting deep now!)

I am personally against killing anything. Not even flies. So I would say yes but I know I would carry insufferable guilt for the rest of my life. Aggghhh. Next question please.

The most exciting thing that has ever happened to you?

The time we went to Jamaica for my stepmother's and dad's wedding and I was swimming in the ocean and a huge- and I mean huge- ray swam underneath me and I could only stare because I was in shock.

Chocolate or sweets?

Chocolate hands down.

What is the worst lie you've ever told and were you caught out?

I don't think I've ever told any really bad lies, mostly because I'm terrible at lying and I get caught out immediately.

The Summer Tag

Hello my lovelies!

It's vaguely warm! Unimaginable joy!
Do you realise who awesome it is to actually have the need to get the fan out of the attic and put it permanently in your room? Its amazing! *deep sigh of content* I might finally get the chance to wear a summery dress as well! Oh this is just bliss...


Moving on to the tag. I never get tagged (goddamnit it) so I just decided to do one anyway for the sure heck of it. I'm such a rebel. I know. Bask in my rebellious-ness.

1.What's your favorite summer nail polish?
I don't have a specific brand, but for Summer I'm mostly sticking with my pastel-y colours (so original) because I can pair them with everything.

2.What is your favourite lip colour this summer?
It's very rare to see me wearing anything on my lips but if I had to choose one it would most likely be a pink-y colour. There's no specific brand just anything like that really suits me.

3.What is your favourite summer accessory?

I've recently ordered another pair of cat eye sunglasses from Asos. They're so awesome! I love the shape of them and they look so cute and vintage.

 

4.What summer trends are you most excited about this year?

White. All out white is so classy and chic. Only problem is the fact that I am one of the messiest human beings currently residing on planet Earth. True story. But if I wasn't such a scruffy person then I would wear rock that look.

 

5.What is your favourite body spray and perfume?

My favourite perfume right now would have to be Ted Baker: Polly. I got it for Christmas last year and I am loving it! It smells kind of musky but fruity and isn't totally overpowering.

6.What is the weather like where you live in the summer?
I live slap bang in the middle of England so you can probably imagine my forecast. However right now I'm outside and its quite warm (but not hot) so I won't insult our climate too much. I would love some proper tanning sunshine though...

7.What is your favourite thing about the summer?
What I love best about Summer is mainly focused around where I live. Without giving away too much detail, I'm going to say that I live just on the edge of a footpath that goes right through all the fields and woodland in the area. And let me tell you, when the sun is either rising or setting, it is so beautiful. Especially in Summer. All the wildlife comes out then. The rabbits are moving around more - you could be about a foot away and they won't even budge and the birds are just a constant hum all around you.

I think that was quite poetic for me.

*sheds a tear*

8.Any plans for the Summer holiday?
I have actually! My mum and I are going to be visiting Berlin! There will most definitely be photos n' stuff on this dear old blog of mine that you can look at and go "Hey this looks pretty damn awesome! I want to go there." And I might also get to practise some of my terrible German skills! Yay!

My Nerdy Me | Tag

Hello there internet!

Now, if you are a regular reader of  my chaotically written 'posts' you will probably know that I am one of the biggest nerds you will find; in fashion and in random knowledge. This is not to say that I am one of those hand-homework-in-on-time-perfect-uniform-absolute-know-it-all kind of geeks, I fit into the category of the obsessive ones who may or may not have a shrine to one of their favourite TV shows.

So while scrolling down twitter, I spotted Miss Becca Beauty's homemade tag and I thought "Well look at that. A tag" Wait no... that's a lie. I thought "I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE" and immediately clicked the link to see what wonders awaited me on another side of the internet.

So fellow nerds/nerdettes, join me on this quest to seek out the answers to Miss BB's questions.


1. If your house was burning down and you could only grab one book, which book would it be and why?
I would probably choose my very dog eared copy of the fault in our stars. I know it's cliché but it's such a good book and shouldn't a book that makes you tear up every time deserve to be saved, hmmm?


2. When you get stuck into a really good book how long will it take you to read it?
At the very least about 2 hours for a book about the size of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone but for one of the Game of thrones books I would say about a day tops.


3. Have you ever become totally obsessed with a book or a series of books before?
Don't even get me started on the Skulduggery Pleasant series. Seriously, my collection of those books are so dog eared and well-thumbed that I often worry if some of the pages will fall out. But as of yet none have kicked the bucket.


5. It is Saturday night and all your friends are going out to a party but on Monday morning you have a really important maths exam that you know you need to study for even though you will probably pass. Do you a) not study, go to the party and hope that you pass, b) study for an hour or so and meet your friends a bit later on or do you c) not go out and study hard so you are fully prepared for Monday mornings exam?
Hmmmm.... probably B although if my exam is something I really suck at I will most likely go for C


6. Do you sometimes come across as anti-social in some situations? If so when?
Oh god yes. When I'm around my friends I'm always very socially comfortable but around the popular group of people I tend to go bright red and mumble something along the lines of "I have to go now...because...ummm....like....yeah bye". I am quite the stereotypical dork.


7. What music do you love listening to that others would see as weird or totally un cool but you love anyway?
Ironically one of my very favourite uncool songs is Bo Burnham's NERDS. Do be warned, it is quite sweary. Have fun learning all the lyrics for the next hour and crying/singing along at the end.


8. Have you ever sat there and completely planned out your whole entire life?
I remember a very boring science lesson where I planned out an extremely detailed zombie apocalypse plan that began as soon as I walked out the door. I imagined a zombie horde storming down the hallway and me being a badass and taking out all the zombies with my machete. Of course, I don't own a machete, heck I don't even own a nail file but the Lara Croft version of me apparently does.


9. What TV shows are you obsessed with that other people think are so nerdy?
You have no idea how much I love Sherlock and Game of Thrones. They both have left me in floods of tears at the season climaxes what with Sherlock's 'suicide' and The Red Wedding. I swear those shows have broken me, tortured me, and ruined my life but I love them so much.

10. Now say three other nerdy facts about you.

• My wardrobe is colour coded. Yes really. I'll post a picture some day.
• I get very annoyed if my duvet is folded on the bed instead of covering it. Is it that hard to stretch it out?!
• My hair bobbles are sorted into 4 containers. Thick ones, Thin ones, Plastic ones and ones that have the metal thing on them

Happy new year you lovely lot! & The new year tag

OMG! It's like, 2014! Which means I'm going to be 14 this year. Scary thought. Only seems just yesterday I turned 12... *stares wistfully into the distance* Anyway, to start with the new year I'm going to do a tag. And not just any tag. My own tag! You see I couldn't find any tags to do on my favourite blogs, or ANY blogs for that matter... so I'm doing my own. Yolo right? ...right?

Lets do this thang.

Are you looking forward to 2014?

 

Immensely! As I said, I'm gonna be 14 and I'm also gonna be Year 9! Only problemo is that I'll have those exam thingys to do and seriously, who actually enjoys exams? They also mean I'll have to concentrate on school work more and blogging less. :(

 

 

 

Any resolutions?

 

Not at the moment. I think I'll just try harder and stuff. Maybe try and be more organised when blogging. Oh yeah! I know! (sorry. As you may have noticed, I write my train of thought... Soz) I really want to visit the Nottingham Vintage Fair. Not sure if that's a resolution but, hey ho, good enough for le moi!

 

What do you want to achieve this year?

I would love to reach 50 followers on bloglovin' and maybe expand my blog a bit more. Y'know, covering more topics and stuff like that!

 



 

 

What's been your favourite thing of 2013?

 

I think probably when I settled into blogging and was sort of... accepted into the community ( I know, cheesy) But really, I think when I stopped caring about pageviews and followers, I became really happy with blogging. Hehe ok cheesiness is over now.
